· The Goal of Community Prevention
SAS takes a leading role in educating the community about substance abuse issues. The goal of the Community Prevention Program is to encourage professionals, families and communities to incorporate prevention and early intervention into their activities. Training is available for any community, treatment, health care, civic, religious, youth, recreation, or any other group requesting it. Topics have included: how to raise drug free children, responding to alcohol and other drug use among clients/employees/students, and how to help a friend or loved on in trouble.

Contact hours for Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselors (CASAC) credentialing and recredentialing are available. (NYS OASAS Provider #ED0100.)

· Parenting for Prevention Newsletter
A monthly "Parenting for Prevention" newsletter provides updated information on current trends and effective prevention for families. 

· HELPLINE - (914) 591-HELP
Our alcohol and other drug Helpline offers free, confidential information from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.

 New Rochelle Village Team
SAS is facilitating a community based prevention program through a cooperative agreement between Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health and the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. The Governor recently released a press release about the exciting state wide initiative. The program is aimed at strengthening the prevention work of the New Rochelle Village Team.
