SAS provides local community members with step-by-step guidance to start or strengthen community-wide prevention initiatives. These steps include: recruiting a broad base of community participants, developing a strategic plan, identifying resources for support, and selecting and implementing science-based prevention programs.

SAS supports community coalitions through its work with the Westchester County Office of Drug Prevention and STOP-DWI, and Westchester Department of Community Mental Health through the Westchester Coalition for Drug and Alcohol Free Youth on county-wide prevention activities. For information on our work with prevention coalitions in Westchester County click the box above.
